Pancake Shapes

Don’t get me wrong, I love the classic round pancake. I would not refuse a buttery syrupy stack of those ever! I do however, love creating pancake shapes. They make for a festive and fun breakfast that everyone is sure to love. Making pancake shapes is easier than you think if have some squeeze bottles.

All you need to do is fill the squeeze bottle about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way with your favorite pancake batter and get creating! Don’t fill the bottle right to the top or the batter will ooze out creating a sizable mess!

The squeeze bottle makes it so much easier to create shapes and honestly, it is like drawing or painting. Give it a few tries and remember, even if you make a mistake, it will still taste delicious!

I love to make shapes for the holidays like trees for Christmas, numbers and names for birthdays or Father’s/Mother’s Day and hearts for Valentines Day. Add toppings like fresh fruit, sprinkles, whipped cream or even chocolate chips to make pancake plates extra yummy! Another fun pancake shape to create are pancake minis! Tiny little circles that are fun to eat and great for tiny hands too! Try making a small stack of the minis and putting them through a toothpick to create a mini pancake stack that you can dunk into syrup or chocolate sauce.

Pro tip - use a funnel if you have one to get the pancake batter into the bottle. It’s tough to do so with a spoon or cup.

Bonus pro tip - use some food coloring drops in your batter to make colorful pancakes! I think this year my daughter is going to get a batch of pink letter pancakes for her birthday!
