Crunchy Chick Peas
Give this recipe a try if you need a savory and salty snack! These do take some time to dry out and bake so give yourself about an hour or more to make them.
These are great to snack with on their own, or you can add them to salads for that extra bit of crunch!
Recipe for Chick Pea Snacks:
Ingredients Needed:
2 cans chick peas drained, rinsed and dried out (lay them flat on a baking tray for at least 30 minutes)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, paprika and onion powder
1/2-1 teaspoon salt or to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Cayenne powder to taste
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
Servings Made: 1 large tray
Time to Prep: 5-10 minutes
Time to Cook: 1 hour
How to Make:
Line a large baking tray with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place chick peas in a single layer on sheet and bake for about 30 -40 minutes.
Remove and carefully (they will be hot) toss chick peas in all ingredients above and ensure to coat evenly. Return chick peas back to oven for another 10-20 mins or until browned and crisp.
Make sure to mix them up a couple of times while in oven to ensure even cooking.
Remove from oven, allow to cool completely and store in airtight container.
