Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs

If you haven’t used lemon pepper seasoning yet, you need to! It is such a versatile seasoning. You can use it in salad dressings, on top of fish, chicken, potatoes or even as a chicken wing marinade. It has a tart flavor that is tough to replicate.

This recipe is for chicken thighs but you can easily use any chicken pieces you wish. I have an amazing crispy chicken wings recipe using lemon pepper seasoning that is a must make.

Recipe for Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs:

Ingredients Needed:

8-10 chicken thighs patted dry (you can leave skin on or remove it)

Olive oil spray

3 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning

1 teaspoon salt or to taste

6 tablespoons flour

Optional - cayenne powder

Sauce

Zest from one lemon (grate using fine side of grater)

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Juice from 1/2-1 lemon

Optional - Franks red hot sauce or similar (to taste)

Servings Made: 4-6 Servings

Time to Prep: 5 minutes

Time to Make: 15-20 minutes

How to Make:

Ensure chicken thighs are patted dry. In a medium bowl, combine 3 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning with salt and flour. Add cayenne powder (to taste) if you want a spicy kick. Toss thighs inside seasoning to coat evenly. You can coat the chicken with a brushing of oil before tossing in seasoning if you want.

Place thighs in a single layer in a greased air fryer basket. Spray tops of thighs with olive oil spray. (you can also bake these in the oven if you wish).

Air fry at 400°F for about 14-16 minutes until chicken almost done (flipping 2/3 of the way through). While chicken is cooking, whisk all sauce ingredients together. Open air fryer and drizzle chicken with prepared sauce or toss in the sauce.

Return chicken to air fryer and cook for another 3-5 minutes until cooked throughout. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.

Enjoy!
