Whipped Coffee
This coffee was all the rage a few years ago so naturally I had to try it out for myself. It reminded me of the iced coffees I had on my honeymoon in Greece way back when. Delicious and refreshing!
Recipe for Whipped Coffee:
Ingredients Needed:
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1 ½ - 2 teaspoons sugar (If you omit the sugar, the coffee will not whip up)
2 teaspoons hot water
1/4-1/2 cup cold milk or water * See notes below
Ice
Servings Made: 1 large cup/glass
Time to Prep: 5 - 10 minutes
Time to Cook: N/A
How to Make:
Mix coffee, hot water and sugar into a small bowl. Whisk until it gets thicker and foamy (like whipped cream consistency) and lightens in color. This usually takes me about 5 mins. It’s a great workout! I use a manual hand whisk but you can use an electric mixer or frother too.
Put some ice cubes in the bottom of a glass, pour about about 1/4 cup of milk and 1/4 cup cold water on top of the ice. (you can play around with the amounts of liquid depending on your taste) Scoop the coffee whip on top.
Pro tip - use a splash of flavored coffee creamer if you want to amp up the taste!
Enjoy!
