Almond Tarts

These almond tarts are made with ready made tart shells so you can have them ready to go really fast! No special equipment needed for these, just a can opener and a spoon.

My mom likes to top these with a chocolate drizzle sometimes, but I prefer them plain with a dusting of powdered sugar.

Recipe for Almond Tarts:

Ingredients Needed:

1/4 cup slivered almonds (I usually need about 1/2 - 1 teaspoon per tart for mini tarts

1/8-1/4 teaspoon almond extract (a little goes a long way)

12 ready made tart shells

1/4 cup condensed milk

1-2 teaspoons light corn syrup to drizzle tops

Optional - melted chocolate for drizzle on top

Servings Made: 12 mini tarts

Time to Prep: 5 minutes

Time to Make: 15 minutes

How to Make:

In a small bowl, mix almond extract and condensed milk together. Fill tart shells with about 1/2 teaspoon of this mixture and top with 1/2-1 teaspoon of slivered almonds. You need less condensed milk mixture than you think as when the tarts bake, the milk will expand and can spill over the sides of the tarts.

Drizzle a TINY amount of light corn syrup over top of the tarts.

Bake tarts as per tart instructions. They will all be different based on which you purchased. Mine usually require baking at 375°F for about 15 minutes or until the shells are a light golden brown.

Remove tarts from oven and cool on wire racks. Drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar.

Pro Tip

Choose your size of shells to make these tarts. I like to make them in mini shells but you can also get larger ones as well! You will need to adjust the above recipe based on your tart size.

Find the ready made tart shells in your grocery freezer aisle.

Enjoy!
