Cinnamon Sugar Swirls
Little mini bite sized cinnamon sugar pastry treats…say that five times fast. Or don’t waste anymore time reading my not so funny jokes and go make these! I promise they are not difficult to make. The hardest part about making these is waiting for them to come out of the oven!
These treats are delicious and come together fast. 5 minutes to prepare the swirls and less than 5 ingredients required for these! Just about 20 minutes to bake and you are set.
Recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Swirls:
Ingredients Needed:
1 sheet frozen puff pastry (The boxes usually come with 2 sheets)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons sugar
2-4 tablespoons melted butter
Servings Made: 2-3 small servings
Time to Prep: 5 minutes
Time to Make: 20 minutes
How to Make:
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Thaw frozen pastry sheet at room temperature as per box instructions. The sheets I use usually take about 20-30 minutes to thaw out. You don’t want the sheets to thaw out completely or they will be very sticky and hard to work with. Just thawed enough so you can unfold and roll them without cracking.
Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
Once pastry sheet is ready to use, unfold it gently on your lined baking tray and brush melted butter over the pastry. Generously spread cinnamon sugar mixture to cover the pastry sheet. Using your hands, gently roll the sheet up so it looks like a long tube. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice your tube into 1 inch sections.
Place each roll on your baking tray about 1-2 inches apart, brush more melted butter on the tops, and sprinkle more cinnamon sugar.
Bake in oven for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through and the pastry becomes golden brown and crispy.
Cool at room temperature before serving.
Enjoy!
