Egg Waffles

Who says waffle makers are only for waffles?? You can use a waffle maker for so many things! Enter the egg waffle. You are welcome.

You can use this egg waffle in between slices of toast, a bagel, english muffin, or just on its own topped with cheese, avocado or even grilled veggies. I usually use egg whites only but you can use a freshly cracked egg as well.

(Be sure to check out my recipe posts for a potato waffle if you love this idea of using your waffle iron for more than just waffles!)

Recipe for Egg Waffles:

Ingredients Needed:

1/2 cup egg whites ⁣

1 ½ ounces shredded cheese ⁣

Salt and pepper to taste ⁣

Servings Made: 1 large egg waffle

Time to Prep: 5 minutes

Time to Cook: 5-7 minutes⁣

How to Make:

Preheat your waffle iron to medium high and brush plates with oil or use cooking spray. I like to use avocado oil as it stands up well to the heat of the waffle iron. Sprinkle about 1/2 your cheese, top with eggs and then finally the rest of the cheese. Close the waffle iron and cook until cheese crisps up or until egg is cooked through. I let it sit for about 1 min longer than my iron wants me to. Mine has light to indicate when the food is ready, so I just let it sit an extra minute.

Carefully remove egg waffle with tongs or a fork. Top with anything you want or even use this waffle in a wrap, sandwich or tortilla! Watch step by step here as I make one.

Pro tip - jazz up your egg waffle by mixing in some finely diced veggies like onions and tomatoes into your egg mixture!

Enjoy!
