Fresh Fruit and Vanilla Cake Trifle Cups

This quick dessert is a crowd pleaser every time. You can put whatever you want in a trifle cup and I swear it always tastes delicious. I love to use fresh fruit, vanilla pound cake and fresh whipping cream.

Other ingredients you can add for the layers are pudding, chocolate chips, broken up cookies, jello, any cake flavor, custard or even jam! Pretty much anything goes :)

Pro tip - if you have any left over cake from previous baking, made these trifle cups for a quick dessert!

Bonus Pro tip - sometimes baking doesn’t always work out and that is a-ok. If you have a collapsed or broken cake (often happens when inverting them)…make these trifle cups instead. Dessert problem solved!

Recipe for Fresh Fruit Trifle Cups:

Ingredients Needed:

1-2 cups fresh berries washed and dried

1 cup homemade whipped cream or use store bought cool whip

Vanilla pound cake pieces or you can use any box cake mix or store bought cake

Optional Toppings - powdered sugar, sprinkles

Servings Made: 4-5 trifle cups

Time to Prep: 5 minutes

Time to Make: 15 minutes (not including bake time for cake unless you use store bought)

How to Make:

Grab all your ingredients and some clear glass or plastic cups. Wide mouth short cups are best so you can dig in with a spoon! I used my favorite stemless wine glasses. Mason jars would also work well.

Layer all your ingredients in the cups starting with cake, then berries, then whipped cream. Continue to do this until you reach the top.

Decorate top of trifle cups with berries, powdered sugar or even sprinkles.

Enjoy!
