Gochujang Chicken Wings

If you love wings, this recipe is a must try. These wings are sweet and pack a ton of heat. Perfect for chicken wing lovers!

The base of this recipe is the Gochujang sauce which is a red chili paste sauce that is sweet and spicy. Great for cooking with.

Pro tip - Make sure you check out my teriyaki and hot wings recipes. They use the same marination and cooking method. All you need to do is toss the cooked wings in one of the three sauces so you can have three varieties of wings with the same marination!

Recipe for Gochujang Wings:

Ingredients Needed:

1-1.25 lbs chicken wings (about ten wings) ⁣

2-3 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

⁣1 teaspoon black pepper⁣

1 teaspoon garlic powder⁣

1 teaspoon onion powder ⁣

⁣Sauce: ⁣

1 tablespoon soya sauce

⁣1 tablespoon honey ⁣

1 tablespoon Gochujang sauce

1/2 tablespoon light brown sugar ⁣

1 tablespoon ketchup ⁣

1 teaspoon ginger paste ⁣

1 teaspoon garlic paste ⁣

*Optional - 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Servings Made: 2 servings

Time to Prep: 5-10 minutes plus marination time up to overnight

Time to Cook: 20-30 minutes

How to Make:

Marinate wings in the spices and oil for a few hours or overnight. Keep them in the fridge covered while marinating. When ready to cook, place in a single layer in a greased air fryer basket and spray tops with oil spray.

Air fry them at 400°F for about 20-25 mins until they are almost fully cooked. Remove and let cool for ten mins. Put them back in the air fryer for another 3-5 mins until they are cooked completely. This helps them get nice and crispy.

Meanwhile, heat up the sauce ingredients on the stovetop over medium heat until the sauce begins to boil. Turn off sauce and remove from heat.

When wings done, toss in prepared sauce and serve immediately.

Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. ⁣

Pro tip - if your air fryer basket isn’t very large, make sure to cook these in batches so you don’t overcrowd the basket. The wings will not cook evenly in this case.

Enjoy!
