Lime Shrimp Tacos

Tangy and spicy shrimp tacos are just what you need to have for dinner tonight. I love these as they are easy to make and taste like ones you would get at a restaurant!

Simple ingredients are required for these so dinner can be ready fast.

Pro tip - If you don’t like soft taco shells, you can use the same recipe but as a filling for hard taco shells!

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder ⁣⁣

1/2 teaspoon paprika ⁣⁣powder

Salt and pepper to taste ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

For the slaw/assembly:⁣⁣

3 cups slaw (get the bag of it from the store so you don’t have to chop it all)⁣⁣

1/8-1/4 red onion thinly sliced⁣

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro ⁣⁣

1/4 cup mayo ⁣⁣*you can use yogurt if you prefer

1/2 cup sour cream ⁣⁣

Juice of 1 lime ⁣ ⁣⁣

Siracha to taste ⁣⁣

Toppings:

Avocado sliced thinly, Grated cheese ⁣⁣, Lime wedges, Warm tortillas (mini)⁣⁣, chopped cilantro, any other toppings you desire

Servings Made: 3 servings

Time to Prep: 20 minutes

Time to Cook: 10 minutes

How to Make:

Make the sauce: Combine mayo, sour cream, lime juice and Siracha together in a small bowl. Mix well to combine. Reserve some sauce for drizzle on top and mix the remainder with the slaw, diced onions and cilantro. Store slaw and sauce covered in fridge until ready to use.

Ensure shrimp are patted completely dry. Marinate shrimp in all spices, about 1 tablespoon of oil and lime juice for about 10-15 mins covered in fridge. Grill, pan fry or air fry shrimp for a few minutes on each side until thoroughly cooked. I prefer to pan fry them in a heated skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once shrimps are cooked, set aside.

Warm up tortillas on a fry pan for 1-2 minutes per side until heated to your liking.

For the assembly of the tacos, place a warm tortilla down on a plate. Then place 2-3 tablespoons of slaw and 2-3 grilled shrimp on the tortilla. Drizzle with reserved sauce in fridge. I like to add extra Siracha!

Squeeze fresh lime on top and garnish with thinly sliced avocado and grated cheese or any other toppings you wish.

Enjoy!
