Homemade Whipped Cream
If you are not making whipped topping at home, you need to! It is so easy to make and tastes amazing. I could eat the entire bowl of this (ok…fine, I have eaten the whole bowl before).
You can use this to top pancakes, brownies, cupcakes, fill or ice cakes, or for hot chocolate topping (and so much more!) I have even added a few drops of food color or icing gels to tint the icing for cupcakes!
Now, I love whipped cream so much I would never say no to whipped cream from a can either, but honestly try this out. Easy to make and a home run every time.
Recipe for Whipped Topping:
Ingredients Needed:
2 cups heavy cream
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Optional - icing gels or food coloring drops
Servings Made: About 3-4 cups of whipped cream
Time to Prep: 5 minutes
Time to Cook: N/A
How to Make:
Using an electric mixer, combine heavy cream with powdered sugar and add vanilla. Mix on high speed until stiff peaks form. If adding color, add now and mix well. Store in fridge until ready to use. Best if used immediately.
Pro tip - make sure your bowl and mixer attachments are cold by storing them in the freezer for 30 mins prior to using. This will speed up the process of mixing.
Enjoy!
