Fruit Skewer Snowmen

Add these fresh fruit skewers to your holiday dessert or snack rotation. They are festive, fun to make (and eat) and definitely a great healthy option if you are looking for one.

We usually make these for our tree decorating evening snacks along with hot chocolate of course!

Pro tip - Freeze these skewers for an extra tasty frozen treat.

Recipe for Fruit Skewer Snowmen:

Ingredients Needed:

1 banana sliced into 2 cm slices (don’t slice too thin or the skewers will split the banana when pushing them in)

5 thin wooden or metal bbq skewers (you could also use toothpicks to make mini ones)

5 green grapes

2-3 strawberries cut into triangles (you could sub this for raspberries also)

1-2 baby carrots cut into small bits

A handful of mini chocolate chips

Servings Made: 5 fruit skewers

Time to Prep: 5 - 10 minutes

Time to Cook: N/A

How to Make:

Assemble the snowmen by inserting a skewer into three banana slices, then a strawberry and top with a green grape.

Press mini chocolate chips into banana to make eyes and buttons, then gently press a small carrot bit for the nose.

Best to consume immediately, or freeze for later.

Pro tip - if you are freezing these, metal skewers are best as it is much easier to push the fruit off of them vs. a wooden one. (I learnt this the hard way!!)

Enjoy!
